Outwell SILVERHILL 500 Tent + Footprint + Awning (5-man)

Description

Used Outwell SILVERHILL 500 Tent + Footprint + Awning (5-man). Purchased in 2017, one-owner from new. Supplied as:- Silverhill 500 tent, which has two bedrooms, sleeping 5 (3 + 2) and a large lounge area.- Silverhill 500 Carpet for lounge area- Footprint (additional groundsheet), plus- Silverhill 500 awning, which attaches to the front of the tent to create a large, additional space. The tent is large – I’ve attached the diagrams, but the main tent is approx 6m x 3.1m. and the canopy adds another 3m to the front. The windows have roll-up curtains; the main tent door has a mesh-fly screen. There is a flap for putting electric-hookup into the tent. Numerous storage pockets inside the tent. The main tent has a built in groundsheet, which cuts down on draughts in the main cabin. The carpet is a really useful extra in creatring a much more cosy feel to the tent. The awning attaches to the front, and has a seperate groundsheet. The awning front door can be removed if required. This has been used for approx 4 camps each summer, ranging from weekends to whole weeks, so used for approx 6 months, last used in early August 2023. I have identified the known ‘defects’, which are inline with a tent of this age and usage, as follows, and these are all shown in the photographs.- the fabric has signifcant colour-fading from the sun. The awning has faded differently from the main tent, so the colour is not the same anymore!- There was a minor tear along the top of where the front metal pole goes through; this has been repaired 2 years ago, and cause dno issue. One of the metal poles has lost a rubber-end (which caused the damage), and this has been improvised with a white-rubber insert – This could do with replacing again, as it has started breaking up again. It hasn’t effected the use of the tent,- One of the metal poles has some black tape on, as it was starting to split in c2021; it’s not been any issue since.- We have replaced one section of a fibre-glass pole, as it cracked.- There was a minor tear on the front of the black skirting on the awning; this has been repaired.- There is a minor tear on the rear of the cabin area on the green fabric; this has been patched in 2022, and has not leaked since we have used it since – the photo is a close-up, and probably looks a bigger repair than it looks in real life.- One of the clips holding the bedrooms to the roof is coming loose; could do with repairing, but been like this for a couple of years. Overall, the tent had no leaks from any of these repairs when we used it for 7 nights a few weeks ago. Due to the size/weight of the tent, this is a buyer-collects only sale.
