I purchased this bike new from Rutland Cycles in Cambridge and have owned it since. If you are looking at these you should know that Brompton made a number of updates to various components, finally realising a refined product in late 2022. This bike has had all of these updates, as follows: Revised motor/front wheel assembly.Revised controller/battery carrier assembly.Revised front mudguard bracket. Used on a regular basis and properly maintained, this bike is a well sorted and sensibly priced example. There are some light marks from normal use, but otherwise no damage at all, please see photos. The battery has had 94 of 500 charge cycles, so is good for many more years of use. This 2 speed model is mechanically simpler and almost a kilogram lighter than the 6 speed. Low gear enables Grand Prix starts and will let you effortlessly climb the steepest incline, whilst high gear will see you comfortably past the maximum assist speed. I’ve never found myself wishing for another ratio on this punchily assisted bike. This Brompton brought me into London, quite literally in the end! So, I no longer need one.
